Trendy waterproof jacket

Q: Where can I buy a smart waterproof that does not look I have just come from walking in the New Forest? If the pundits are to be believed our winters are getting wetter and I do not want to wear a Barbour. I am size 24.

A: It appears these days that we have to start dressing for warmer but wetter weather in the UK. Why not look for a lightweight but waterproof quilted jacket? Take a look at the fabulous Four Seasons range (www.fourseasonslondon.com for stockists - their weatherproof jackets and coats are a far cry from the Barbour style. They have improved their styling recently and you will find a super range in many colours. Check out also www.marisota.com who have a showerproof microfibre mac in sizes 12 – 30 in a choice of three colours and at only £55. One of our favourites is www.chesca1424.co.uk. Here you will find a snazzy short black raincoat priced at a more pricey £175 in sizes up to 24. Also look at www.elvi.co.uk. Their new collection hits their countrywide stores soon and caters for sizes from 16 .

Tattooed eyebrows

Q: Owing to over-zealous plucking in the 60s/70s my eyebrows are now reduced to a few strands. Even these are turning grey. I have heard about eyebrows being tattooed on, and wondered what you think about this - what the risks are and the likelihood of having two different shaped brows for ever. I would appreciate your advice.

A: Belinda replies: In response to your eyebrow query I am happy to report that I had my eyebrows done only last month using the semi permanent pigment you ask about. It is really a tattoo method and I am delighted with mine as my eyebrows were sparse and very fair; I had to pencil them in every day!

The colour will remain visible for several years but fades gradually. After the first treatment (approx an hour and a quarter) you go back for a top-up a month later then another three months later. This is all in the original price. The technician I am going to recommend is very professional and very subtle with the colour and shape; she is also a trained make up artist. Her name is Ann Oliver Harvey, telephone number 07739391284. She travels all over the country.
