Things to note about Fixed Rate Savings Accounts
- You can apply for maturity interest or monthly interest online or by telephone. Please note that the rate offered for internet accounts may be higher than telephone or postal.
- Monthly interest cannot be paid back into the account. It can be transferred monthly to an external bank account, or you can take advantage of the Saga Secure Savings Account. This means that the AER rate is for illustrative purposes only
- No withdrawals or additional deposits will be allowed during the term of the account
- Internet accounts are unavailable to joint account holders
- If you apply for a Saga Internet Fixed Rate Savings Account you must set up a Linked Account in order to operate your account. A Linked Account must be a personal current account with Direct Debit facilities and for which you hold a cheque book at a UK Bank or Building Society in your name. The same conditions will apply to any new Linked Account you may set up in the future
- To take full advantage of the Saga Internet Fixed Rate Savings Account, your initial deposit should be for the full amount you would like to invest. This may be sent via cheque and drawn on the same account that you have nominated as your linked account
- This type of savings account is typically only available for a limited period, and there is a limit on the total amount of money that can be invested. When this limit is reached, investments will no longer be invested
