Manco Capac
The community of Manco Capac is located about 25 miles down the Amazon river from the town of Iquitos and comprises Mestizo river people and Yagua Native Indians.
The community has a kindergarten with 40 children, an elementary school with 137 students and a high school with 60 students. Students have to purchase all their own materials and rural schools rarely have textbooks and reference materials.
The Saga Charitable Trust has been happy to help with materials for the school, which also receives visits from Saga guests at nearby Ceiba Tops.
