Joining a Saga cruise couldn’t be easier

With our included UK mainland travel service you can enjoy a hassle-free journey to your departure port or airport by car, coach, rail or air. We take care of all the details so your holiday really does begin from the moment you leave home.

Fly from an airport near you

Included UK domestic flights for all cruises departing in 2009. Fly from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester or Jersey and Belfast to Southampton, or to Gatwick for Dover, or to Manchester for Liverpool, with included transfers between the airport and port.

For cruises that include international flights we can arrange selected domestic flights to connect with your international flight. All UK domestic flights are subject to availability.

Travel by coach

Alternatively travel with National Express from a bus station near you to your departure port or the station serving your international airport. There are more than 1,200 departures daily throughout the UK.

Travel by rail

If you prefer to travel by rail, we include standard class rail travel from your local rail station to the station serving your port or airport, or first-class rail travel for Saga Rose’s Commonwealth World Cruise and Saga Ruby’s An African Odyssey cruise.

We can make seat reservations for you on all major routes, subject to the rail company’s restrictions. We can also arrange cross-London travel by car to avoid the need to change at various stations. Please call for details.

Car parking

If you choose to drive yourself to the port or airport, we can arrange your car parking, which is included in the price. At Southampton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Liverpool ports, you can drive direct to the port, and car park staff will drive your car to a secure area, while at Dover, Falmouth and Greenock ports it is possible to park at the port.

At Heathrow and Gatwick a courtesy bus takes you to and from airport terminals. Or, for an extra charge, you can choose to drive your car direct to the terminal building where you will be met by car park staff who will then drive your car to a secure car park.

Our car service

For the most comfortable and convenient journey, why not take advantage of our private car service, where a chauffeur will meet you at your home and take you directly to the port or airport.

For Saga Rose’s Commonwealth World Cruise and shorter world voyages departing between January 5-April 19, 2009 and for Saga Ruby’s An African Odyssey cruise and its shorter voyages departing between January 5-March 18, 2009, this service is included if you live within 250 miles by road of your departure port or airport, and of your arrival port or airport for your return journey.

For all other cruises in 2009, this service is included if you live within 75 miles. If you live between 76 and 250 miles of your departure port or airport you can take advantage of our included shared car service. You will have the same service as above but your vehicle may be shared with a maximum of four passengers and will be an MPV so there will be plenty of room for you and your luggage.
