A play of life and death, promised in a moment of mortal threat – so began the history of the Oberammergau Passion Play in 1633, an event that has become a remarkable and enduring expression of Christian faith and a special commemoration of the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Oberammergau 2010 promises to be one of the most memorable events in the Christian calendar. For the last series of performances in 2000, nearly 10,000 passengers travelled with Saga to see the Passion Play and we hope to be able to take at least as many again in 2010.
